Hello, my pretties (I feel like I should just call all y’all “Clarice” while I’m at it – any ideas for a less creepy intro? Anything at all?). Anyway, today I have the entire 2016 Fall Collection from Pretty and Polished (P&P) to share with you guys. Let me just preface this whole thing by saying they’re all freakin’ ah-maz-ing. Seriously, you won’t feel like you’ve wasted your time looking at these fab swatches haha (toot, toot).
I actually won this collection through a giveaway on Instagram hosted by @killakays_nailadventures (if you’re not already following her you need to…she’s awesome! You can also find her blog here). I was so absolutely stoked when I saw I had won that I might’ve clapped and screamed and developed the shakes. It’s probably a good thing the inside of my truck doesn’t have the emotional capabilities to judge a person.
Let’s dive right into the swatches, shall we?
Isn’t she a beauty? This is Patch, already a fan favorite and it’s easy to see why! Patch is one of the newest additions to the Dusty Cremes P&P is well known for. I own a couple Dusty Cremes from a previous purchase and I’m a huge fan of them! I was so excited to find out there were two new Dusty Cremes being released with this collection. They’re so wearable it’s almost a sham and Patch is no exception. This swatch shows two easy coats with glossy top coat and again with a matte top coat. You can buy Patch right here!
Next up is Creme De La Creme, the second and last Dusty Creme in the collection. This is a parchment-colored nude (the website describes it as off-white sandy dusty) that is wearable with anything and is 100% work approved! The fact that it’s a Dusty Creme gives it that extra pizzazz that makes it much more fun to wear than your average, every day nude. This swatch shows two easy coats with glossy top coat and again with a matte top coat. You can purchase Creme de la Creme right here!
This next one is called Fuzzy Sweater and it’s my favorite out of the whole collection! The website described it as an offbeat mustard yellow creme packed with color shifting flakes. I knew when I first saw a swatch of this color that I was going to adore it. I mean. Look. At. Dem. Flakies. Mustard yellow has never looked so good, ya’ll. This swatch shows two easy coats with glossy top coat and again with a matte top coat. If you love Fuzzy Sweater as much as I do, buy it here!
I Done Plum Had It! is a bright purple/magenta creme with copper flakies. I can see this color worn with a grey pea coat and a nice pair of heeled boots! This swatch shows two easy coats with glossy top coat and again with a matte top coat. You can purchase I Done Plum Had It! here!
Riverside Drive is a unique deep blue creme with blue and silver flakies (the same color as my lips on these 40 degree mornings that came from Outofnowhere…minus the flakies). This swatch shows two easy coats with glossy top coat and again with a matte top coat. Riverside Drive can be purchased here!
This is Dark Magic – just look at that scattered holo! This is a dark grey/almost black crelly with holographic and metallic glitters. The purple glitter pops even more under a matte coat! This polish dries textured, so a glossy top coat is needed for a smooth, shiny surface. This swatch shows two easy coats with glossy top coat and again with a matte top coat. Buy a bottle of Dark Magic here!
Taupe Me Off and Leaf! is a taupe crelly polish packed with metallic glitters in gold, brown, copper, bronze, and orange (from the website). I don’t have a picture with a matte top coat added (I don’t know why I don’t), but if you’re curious you can see the image on Killa Kay’s blog. This polish took three coats for full opacity. You can buy Taupe Me Off and Leaf! right here!
Heavy Metal, while pretty, is the oddball of the collection to me. The name doesn’t really fit the theme but I’m sure Chelsea had a good reason for this metallic beauty! It has a silver metallic base and is packed with metallic glitters and color shifting flakes (from the website). There is a green shift hidden somewhere in this polish but I was never able to find it! Instagram user and blogger @dsetterfield74 (aka “Snacks On Rotation“) was able to capture it perfectly and you can view it either on her blog or on her insta. I didn’t include the photo with a matte top coat added, because my amateur lighting setup didn’t lend much of a difference between the two haha. Buy Heavy Metal here!
Lavendarling is a holographic lavender color changing nail polish that is pink when room temperature or warmer and will turn to a blue/purple when cold (from website). It has gorgeous pink and blue flakes in it. This polish was an absolute biatch to capture the color change it changed so fast. I even had my husband in on it to hold a cold rag to my nails while I had the camera ready, and this was the best I could manage! This swatch shows two coats. You can purchase Lavendarling here!
Fall in Love a Latte is a brown to cream color changing polish that changes colors when it gets warm. This one was a breeze to work with after the Lavendarling fiasco haha. The color transitioned very smoothly and I had ample time to take photos before it would change back. This swatch shows three coats. Buy Fall In Love a Latte right here!
That’s a wrap, guys! I hope you enjoyed these polishes as much as I enjoyed swatching them. Pretty and Polished is hands-down one of my favorite indie nail polish brands and I’m so grateful I was able to get my hands on a full collection of hers!
Which one of these was your favorite?
Thanks for reading! Until next time!
